I thought it an appropriate thing to start this blog with a list of reasons why you should join avirtualhorse- if you haven't already. Here, I will give you ten (in my opinion) good reasons why you non-players should go and join NOW :). And if you find yourself to be already playing and enjoying the game, I would of course be more than delightful if you would drop me a comment with your suggestions for reasons to join this game. So, here goes:
- AVH is one of the biggest virtual horse games.
While there are horse games that generate more traffic and have more active players, such as Howrse, AVH is among the biggest players in the field, meaning it caters a big and diverse community of people. You will almost certainly find some new friends on the game! - AVH is child-friendly, suitable for all ages.
While it may appear to some that the rules on the game are quite strict, they are designed so that anyone from young child to adult can actually enjoy the game. If you consider signing your kiddo up for AVH, you will be happy to know that the social environment is monitored strictly, and that parental guarding options are present. Also if you are a teen or an adult you are sure to find your twist in the game, with many people of your own age playing it. - It is the only virtual horse game that features 3D animated horses.
To this day, AVH is the only game to feature 3D animated horses. They will turn their heads and swish their tails back and forth as you view them in their stables, and actually come to you when you feed, treat or groom you. Sure, the animations are not the best of the best, but they have a certain charm to them. Plus, you can watch your horse in action as it enters shows, performing one of the four disciplines with full tack on. - Progressing through levels is easily comprehendable and addictive.
The level system on AVH is designed in such a manner, that you can set your goal to any level you would choose to. Performing actions will gain you and your horse xp, which directly adds up to your current level. There is no limit on the level you can archieve- train hard and shoot for the stars! Or just stay a bit more low-profile and relaxedly lead your horses to a breedable level. It is all up to you- but I can tell you that advancing levels will soon become addicting! - Choose from tons of breeds of equines- and more!
AVH supplies you with diverse breed options. Where most games hold two dozen breeds at most, on here you will find a vast array of breeds of horses, ponies and magical equines to choose from. You can even own and breed your very own zebras or donkeys. Some breeds are very popular while other breeds have less than thirty specimen active- there is your chance to improve a breed and leave your mark on it. There's also numerous options for exciting crossbreeding, should you not already be satisfied with any of the 'basic' breeds available. - AVH is a stable game that rarely has any bugs or errors.
While many horse games suffer from the inavoidable bug issues, and sometimes even experience downtime because of that, this rarely ever happens on AVH. Now I am not going to tell you this is a perfect game where nothing ever goes wrong, because of course it isn't, no game is. But the people running the game will make sure that the game will always be playable, and that bugs will never result in having to close the game. Issues are usually quickly adressed, if any should arise. I have myself never experienced any trouble playing the game. - Breed colored horses and ponies, with an array of markings.
The game works with genetics that determine your horse's color, so you can also breed for color and markings. I know most games operate with a genetics system these days, and AVH does not even have the most accurate one. But, it does cover many coat colors that horses may have, and breeding for these is still exciting. But the strongest point of the game's breeding system is the variation there is in the markings. Both overo and tobiano have at least seven different variations, while the other marking all have variations as well. Your horses can also have numerous other white markings, such as blazes and socks, that can take different forms and are inheritable as well. Plus, you can now breed for medicine hat horses! - Own as many horses as you would like or can support.
There is no limit on how many horses you can choose to keep on the game. As long as you have room in your stables, you're good! Hoard as many as a hundred, or stick to that one you love. Having more horses will require you to care for them, too, but you can sign them up at the AVH stable and the vet clinic to have them taken care of. Ain't that handy?! - There are many options for you to earn money and fame on the game.
While it is always a long way to fame and riches, there are many different ways to walk that path on AVH. You can choose to get to know the community well; socialize on the blogs, chat, hop into roleplays, and more. You can be known for your high-leveled or rare-colored horses and foals that you produce, or the high-quality shows you make. You can also choose to make tack and become practiced at that, so you can earn money from selling it, or use it on your own horses in your advantage. Or build a ranch and grow bulk of produce, that you can trade at the market and cater the community. Become a rescue and take in those unwanted horses, nurture them and level them up, and perhaps sell them for a lot of coins! It is all up to you. - AVH has a shiny, easy-to-comprehend layout
While a dark green & gold color scheme might be your thing or not, one thing that is very favorable about the game's layout is that it is so compact and easy to figure out. You can readily navigate through all of the sections of the game through the bottom bar. Furthermore, once you join the game you will be lead through a tutorial that informs you how to get around the game. Getting lost on AVH is now harder than it ever was.
Alright, these are ten reasons that I believe should speak for themselves to motivate any horse-lover to give this game a try! As always, feedback is ofcourse much appreciated, and if you have anything to add to this, don't be shy! :)
